The Food and Drug Administration on Friday approved Pfizer 's treatment for a rare genetic bleeding disorder, making it the company's first-ever gene therapy to win clearance in the U.S. The agency greenlit the drug, which will be marketed as Beqvez, for adults with moderate to severe hemophilia B who meet certain requirements. Without that protein, called factor IX, patients with hemophilia B bruise easily and bleed more frequently and for longer periods of time. The gene therapy will compete with Australia-based CSL Behring's Hemgenix, a similar treatment that won FDA approval for hemophilia B in 2022. The company is also developing a gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a genetic disorder that causes muscles to weaken gradually.

But his rendition of Ripley – highly capable, chameleonic, but never what you’d call charming — represents a refreshing take on one of the most famous sociopaths in literature and film. Gagne feels Hollywood’s nearly always gotten it wrong with portrayals of sociopaths, reducing them to a collection of cartoonish, villainous traits. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is cashing in $2.76 million on UConn's big win over Purdue Monday night in the NCAA men's championship game. FanDuel said the men's championship game saw a 52% year-over-year increase in bet count and a 42% year-over-year increase in handle. At Caesars , Monday's championship game accounted for the most same-game parlays ever placed on a college basketball game at their sportsbook. FanDuel, BetMGM and Fanatics say the championship game was their single biggest betting event on women's sports. Caesars said the women's championship saw double the previous handle record for a women's college basketball game.
